Job Description        

Harris Publishing is pursuing a dynamic and experienced individual who is committed to promoting and presenting our magazines; Pontoon & Deck Boat, Diesel Tech and Houseboat Magazine.

The Marketing Assistant will be responsible for assisting in our marketing activities and helping oversee the development and delivery of a marketing strategy for our small organization.

 

Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements  

-          Must be experienced with posting on different social media platforms, have decent writing and editing skills, and must have good people skills.

-          Help and assist with implementing marketing plans to increase revenue within the various magazines.

-          Develop connections with key clients and partner organizations to create mutually beneficial promotional opportunities.

-          Support to the creative team by managing and writing copy for marketing material.

-          Manage projects to ensure flawless execution - on time, on budget and on strategy.

-          Analyze and capture marketing campaign performance metrics and ROI. Deliver support for presentations and customized marketing material for the sales force for customized campaigns.

-          Build relationships with other departments in order to work on cross-functional teams to execute projects.

-          Actively participating in business team meetings, including the preparation of discussion materials to support future planning for marketing and communications improvements.

-          Generate ideas for new content to be published in magazine and online.

-          Design and develop creative advertising material.

 

Desired Qualifications

-          Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and DreamWeaver.

-          Strong oral and written communication skills along with Microsoft Office and computer proficiency.

-          Ability to work in a collaborative environment to promote our magazines.

-          Being able to multitask is a must.

-          Good phone skills.

Job Description        

Harris Publishing is pursuing a dynamic and experienced writer who is creative, a fast learner, and who can work independently but also as part of a team.This writer will be responsible for writing and editing for Diesel Tech Magazine, Pontoon & Deck Boat and Houseboat Magazine.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent writer/editor with the ability to: communicate in a variety of styles and through a variety of media; flourish in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; work with a variety of departments to produce creative, strategic ideas for content production; and skillfully manage all assigned projects.

 

Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements  

• Write/edit news and feature stories, web copy, newsletters, print and electronic publications copy and some press releases.
• Assist in managing production of print and electronic publications, including e-newsletters, sales kits, posters, etc.
• Manage social media accounts, primarily Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
• Contribute to maintenance of web content and development of vision/strategy for website presence.
• Manage photography and other visual media, from determining needs to managing existing assets.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and news to become an authority on the daily-driver diesel industry.
• Other duties in support of the communications team as assigned.

 

Desired Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to edit range of documents, correcting any grammatical or compositional errors.
• Familiarity with search engine optimization and best practices for website content development.
• Ability to incorporate feedback into work to improve upon quality of content with a positive attitude.
• Must have strong organizational skills and be able to pay high attention to detail.
• Strong and adaptable writing skills with the ability to write professionally and creatively, but also create useful, relevant and engaging content.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and meet a variety of deadlines simultaneously.
• Ability to quickly adjust priorities to respond to urgent demands.
• Professional writing experience strongly preferred.
• A passion for diesel and boating industries will be considered a strong plus.
