Monster...that's probably the best word to describe the Ram pick-up that rolled out onto the stage in Chicago.
With peak torque of 800 lb ft, Ram rolled out the most powerful production High Output Cummins turbo diesel ever at the Chicago Auto Show as part of their new 2500 and 3500 heavy duty pickups.
"A Ram Heavy Duty truck owner's most important concern is towing capability - 79% of them rate towing as extremely important," said Fred Diaz, Ram Truck brand CEO. "Reliability and engine performance are tied for second, named as extremely important by 73% of owners."
The new Cummins Turbo Diesel gets an 23 percent increase in power which in real life means the new heavy duty 2500 and 3500 pick-up can handle up to 30,000 lbs. And if you need to tow a really big trailer, the new pick-up can now tow up 11 tons or (in other words) a maximum trailer weight is 22,700 pounds.
