If you’ve been longing for the days of yore when Power Wagons roamed the hills, well, Ram has some good news for you. At the Chicago Auto Show today, they revealed that they will be offering a Power Wagon trim and off-road package to the Ram 2500 lineup.
Some of the features of the off-road package include hill descent control, which let you descend steep grades without using the brake; all-terrain tires; larger fender flares; limited-slip differentials; improved shock absorbers; and Power Wagon-specific badges.
“The Ram Power Wagon is an off-road, all-access pass, removing the limitations, instilling confidence and allowing owners to reach areas of recreation and lifestyle not attainable with any other pickup,” said Mike Manley, Head of Jeep Brand and Ram Brand, FCA - Global. “The 2017 Ram Power Wagon delivers to those who travel into extreme terrain, while providing the towing and payload capability required in a heavy-duty truck.”
The updated Power Wagon will feature a new grille that takes inspiration from the Rebel (for better or worse), as well as Power Wagon graphics on the rear quarter panels and the Ram name on the grille and tailgate.
There's no word yet on pricing, but the packages will be available starting in the third quarter of this year.
