Diesel Brothers Might Be In Legal Trouble

August 2016 News Trevor Mason

Everyone’s favorite lovable knucklehead diesel enthusiasts, the Diesel Brothers, are about to face some legal trouble, by the sound of it. Apparently a group called Utah Physicians for a Healthy Environment has plans to sue them for tampering with their vehicles so they blow more smoke.

Now, rolling coal is nothing new in the diesel world, but with such strict regulations in place, you have to take care of how you build your truck, especially when have a spotlight on you, the way Diesel Brothers do.

On Wednesday, the UPHE issued their intent to file the suit against Diesel Brothers for, in their words, “significant, repeated and ongoing violations of federal law and for both tampering with vehicle emissions and encouraging others to do so.”

“Diesel exhaust is one of the most toxic types of pollution there is. It is, in fact, dangerous and deadly,” said Dr. Brian Moench, president of UPHE, in a statement. “This company’s removal and deactivation of vehicle pollution control equipment represents a callous disregard for the harm they are doing to the entire community. It is also deeply offensive to all the law abiding (sic) vehicle owners who make a good faith effort to abide by our pollution laws.”

If it goes through, the lawsuit would seek an injunction against the Diesel Brothers’ activities and would levy a civil fine paid to the U.S. Treasury for five years’ worth of violating the Clean Air Act. UPHE also wants Diesel Brothers to recall all of its diesel tampering equipment and any modified vehicles sold throughout the country.

Diesel Brothers must stop any alleged tampering within 60 days or the UPHE lawsuit will move forward.
