The second thing you notice when you meet Dan Adams is what a nice guy he is. The first thing you notice is that his truck looks like it ate a school bus. Once you know the details behind his 2009 4WD Chevy Kodiak, you’ll see that’s not actually too far from the truth.
Dan says, “I was looking for a medium-duty pickup just for the payload and the hauling capacities. We looked and looked and looked and it was sort of hit or miss where you find these things. The Kodiak body is a U-Haul. You see these things connected to moving vans. You very rarely see something that you can foresee turning into something cool. We get a lot of people saying, ‘Wow, that thing’s unreal! Where do you get something like that?’”
Where indeed? Dan, who lives in Alpine, Wyo., found one in Miles City, Mont., and drove 10 hours straight to pick it up. But why would he possibly need such a gargantuan vehicle?
