November 1, 2010, Beverly, MASS.Customized versions of Ford's 2011 F-Series models will be displayed at this year's Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas, highlighting the impressive versatility of Ford's trucks. Ford hopes that 2010's SEMA show, which begins Tuesday, November 2nd, and goes until Friday, November 5th, will continue the automakers' award-winning tradition there; F-Series trucks have won three awards in the past five years, including the Accessory-Friendly Truck design award.
Seven variations of the F-Series will be at this year's show, including customized 2011
F-150 and F-350 Super Duty models. The featured trucks will not only prove the adaptability of the F-Series, but will also highlight the performance capabilities that have made the F-Series the best-selling truck line in the market for the past 33 years.
While many Ford truck enthusiasts will flock to check out unique versions of the latest models at this years' SEMA show, local
Massachusetts Ford drivers that can't make it to Las Vegas can find the original F-Series trucks at Thomas Ford in Beverly.
"The SEMA show always gives the latest F-Series models a chance to make a big splash, and this year's show will be no exception," said Jeff Klein, general sales manager of the North Shore
Ford dealer. "While the specialized models at SEMA reveal the customization potential of a Ford truck, it's not just the cool styling and accessories that earn the F-Series the admiration of truck lovers. The performance under the hood of all Ford trucks is the root of their success."
The custom F-150s at this year's
SEMA show will include models featuring the new 3.5 liter EcoBoost, an innovative engine available in early 2011 that is promising an unprecedented combination of fuel-efficiency and power. Another model to be showcased in the F-150 class will be one transformed by Mickey Thompson into an unstoppable off-road vehicle with 35 inch Baja Claw TTC Radical tires. An F-350 model built by Cars by Kris and Airhead Kustoms to transport race cars to the track will highlight the Super Duty's impressive towing capacity, as well as attractive styling not typically found in a heavy-duty work truck.
The diverse range of customization present in the Ford trucks at SEMA will turn heads, but it's the diversity of engines in the new F-Series models that is gaining the attention of truck buyers across America. The new 3.7 liter V-6 engine in the 2011 F-150, which gets 23 mpg highway, is projected to make it the most fuel-efficient full-size pickup truck in America. For more power, there are available 5.0 and 6.2 liter V-8 engines, with the latter receiving a class-leading 411 horsepower.
"Whether you are looking for fuel economy or power, this year's F-Series lineup has model and trim options that will suit your needs," said Klein. "It doesn't matter if you're commuting into work and looking to save on gas costs, or in need of some serious towing capacity to get tough hauling jobs done, Ford has designed a unique F-Series model to handle every Massachusetts truck owner's unique needs."
