El Campo, Texas — Tough Country Products, Inc. announced today the completion of a lengthy and rigorous selection process with the National Rifle Association in which the NRA has now named Tough Country as, “The Official Truck Bumper of the NRA.” This follows nearly a year of product development work with the organizations to craft a bumper series that would fit the needs of its members and represent the same level of commitment the NRA’s members have to preserving and defending the 2nd Amendment of the United States.
Tough Country was co-founded in Texas in 1998 by Founder/CEO Brent Pratka and his brother President/COO Kurt Pratka, after they built a bumper for Brent’s personal truck in their father’s machine shop. Soon after, they received a number of requests for custom bumpers from family and friends and eventually the ranching communities around Texas. Tough Country was born and today has nearly 100 employees with dealers across the United States.

The NRA Special Edition Bumper will be based on Tough Country’s most popular conservative styling bumper, the Deluxe and feature a single high-powered, energy efficient, 30-inch / 16,000 lumens “Torch-series” LED light-bar also made by Tough Country. Additionally, the NRA Edition front will feature a receiver hitch that can be used for a multitude of tasks and accessories from removable winches to receiver-mounted shooting rests.

Tough Country officers and employees are avid outdoor enthusiasts and hunters. The company has a long history with the NRA and firearms. In fact, last year a major firearm manufacturer named a rifle model the “Pratka” after the family’s namesake.
The NRA Edition bumper features the only truck bumper on the market with a 4-inch pipe base that measures wheel to wheel. Headlights are protected with an above industry standard 1.25-inch pipe and also provide a sturdy base for two, specially machined sleeves to allow the use of a rifle rest. The NRA Edition Bumper, like all Tough Country bumpers, is finished with a proprietary 11-stage Powder Coating done completely in-house.
