Hybrid is such a dirty word these days. Utter it around any car enthusiast and chances are they’ll shoot you a look that could kill at a hundred paces. Say it around anyone who drives a diesel and it’d be like a full-scale thermonuclear detonation. But we’re not talking about a Prius, so the word needn’t have such a negative connotation. Sometimes hybrids are more than the sum of their parts, like the legendary chimera or the mythical griffin. That’s where Travis Blake’s 1988 Chevy Silverado comes in.
