Yes, International Harvester made trucks; no, it’s not a Scout. My 1973 Restomod International Harvester 1310 4x4 is not only my daily driver, it’s also tows when the need arises. The modifications I have installed include a 6.9L diesel/7.3L factory turbo setup, a ZF 5-speed transmission, a Dana 60 front axle, and it’s fitted with a Sterling 10.25 rear axle underneath a custom flatbed. Next I plan to add a Moose pump and Moose injectors, and a bigger, more powerful turbo for increased power. The signature look of my IH is the custom flatbed, reminiscent of classic work and farm trucks.

My everyday driver is a 2008 6.7L Dodge Ram Cummins. When purchased, this truck was bone stock and it has been a work in progress ever since. After blowing the head gasket of the VGT turbo, I decided to fire ring and stud the gasket and upgrade to a BorgWarner s472 Turbo with the second generation manifold, including an MCC tuning, the Stage 4 ATS 68RFE Transmission package with the CoPilot Torque Converter Lock-Up Controller. Later upgrades included Flux 4 injectors, the ATS Dual CP3 Injection kit, and traction bars. The truck has come a long way in the one year I’ve owned it.

My 2009 6.6L Duramax is a fully-loaded daily driver that I’m looking forward to further improving and racing on the track. Currently, it’s sitting on 35-inch Toyo M/T tires, and I’ve installed an H&S Mini Maxx Street tuner, FASS 150 System, DDP injectors, aFe cold air intake, 5-inch exhaust, 6-inch Fabtech Lift, 20-inch Fuel Hostage Wheels, Fusion front bumper, Fuel grill, tinted windows, and a spray-on bed liner.
Future plans include a more powerful turbo, EFILive tuning and an Edge monitor, uppipes, downpipes, intercooler pipe and a rebuilt transmission. I’m a huge truck enthusiast preparing to further a career in building race trucks at the NASCAR Technical Institute in Mooresville, N.C.
