OPTIMA Batteries has announced its first annual Ultimate Film Festival. The festival is designed to give automotive enthusiasts a chance to showcase their love for their vehicles. From now until October 5th, car and truck lovers are invited to submit their content to the panel of judges and get the chance to be featured in an upcoming episode of MAVTV.
To win either the “Best in Show” or “Best Action Cam” award, entries should be either short-form or action films, respectively, and will be judged on three criteria: compelling storytelling, authenticity and creativity. Filmmakers should try to give their films a unique, grounded spin and share the experiences of individuals.
“This initiative is about celebrating everything that makes the automotive performance industry great – emotional highs and lows, hold-on-to-your-hats performance and never-before-seen perspectives from passionate enthusiasts,” said Cam Douglass, marketing director at OPTIMA Batteries. “Now is the time for enthusiasts to show us what they’re made of, and we can’t wait to see the action and creativity in the submissions.”
The finalists will be announced in late October, and an exclusive screening will beheld on November 5 during SEMA at the House of Blues. Those in attendance will vote in real time to pick the final winners. Selected filmmakers will receive two general admission tickets to the screening. Those films chosen for the event will be included in a one-hour special on MAVTV in 2016.
“As popularity for our ‘OPTIMA’s Search for the Ultimate Street Car’ series on MAVTV continues to grow, we recognized enthusiasts everywhere are craving action-packed stories from colleagues and peers,” said Douglass. “We’re thrilled to be spearheading this competitive initiative that will curate and celebrate the type of exciting, branded content making waves in the industry.”
