Some spy shots have surfaced of a new Ford F-150 sporting a 3.0 V6 diesel engine tooling around Ford’s home base of Dearborn, MI. The popular thinking is that by adding a turbodiesel to the F-150 line, Ford will give some serious competition to Ram’s 1500 EcoDiesel. Reports also suggest that this new F-150 will use the 10-speed automatic transmission that’s shipping in the 2017 Raptor. It sounds like that would improve the F-150’s fuel efficiency into the 30 mpg range, where it would surpass both the EcoDiesel and the Colorado/Canyon. The new F-150 should go on sale sometime in 2016.
