Everything sounds better when it’s in a British accent, innit? The UK show Fifth Gear had one of its presenters, a delightful man named Jon Bentley, find out what happens when you put the wrong fuel in your vehicle, namely, gas into a diesel or diesel into a gasser. The results are actually far less dire than you would think. Sure, it’s a bad idea, but it’s not going to make your truck explode or anything. Take a look!
So yeah, there are a couple caveats here. First, this is in no way scientific. Yes, both cars seemed to be fine afterwards, but who can really say without a proper inspection? Also, both of those cars are A) not trucks (obviously) and B) pretty old, and as such, don’t have the tuning and tweaking a modern vehicle would have. In the case of the diesel, that seems to present more of a problem than for the gasser. All in all, though, it’s an entertaining little video and if nothing else, food for thought if you ever have a mental lapse and put the wrong fuel in your rig. But none of you would ever do that, right?
