Better Front Axle Bearings for Your RAM

September 2019 Products Colin Peterson

Many Cummins-powered 4x4 Dodge/RAM pickups came from the factory with unit bearing hubs on the front axle. Not only are those unit bearings non-serviceable and expensive; the factory recommends replacing them every 60,000 to 80,000 miles.

But you can lose those pesky old bearings by replacing them with this Yukon Gear Spin Free Locking Hub Conversion Kit! The kit comes with tapered wheel bearings and races that are much easier and less expensive to service. You also get a pair of Yukon’s Hardcore locking hubs that allow you to manually disengage the front axle when in two-wheel drive. The reduced drag can help boost your fuel mileage and also extend the life of the front driveline components. The kit comes with quality Timken bearings, wheel hubs, 4340 chromoly stub axles, spindles, the Hardcore locking hubs, and all necessary seals and hardware.
