When it comes to power and torque, Mike Dorsey knows a thing or two with his 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 SLT Sport. Powered by a 5.9L Cummins, the 620hp engine provides an impressive 1179ft/lbs of torque. Highlights include an Autometer Nexus boost and pyrometer, Volant intake with scoop, ATS Arc Flow intake manifold, Banks Intercooler, 4-inch exhaust with Donaldson muffler and 5-inch SS Magnaflow tip and an ATS Pulse Flow exhaust manifold.
For his turbo he went with a BorgWarner 64/71 with HTT 13cm2 SS turbine housing and Bullseye Power wastegate actuator. For his tuner he went with a Bully Dog Triple Dog with Crazy Larry, Quadzilla XZT. Other upgrades include DDP 50hp injectors, Air Dog Raptor with aux. 2mic filter and water separator, G56 transmission with a South Bend OFE clutch and Superlift traction bars for the suspension.
With his 18-inch MKW M29, 275/70/18 Toyo Open Country AT wheel and rims he's getting around 18 miles per gallon in this daily driver.
"I ordered it new from the factory and it's used for everything from driving to work, to hauling building and landscaping supplies, towing, camping and road trips," says Dorsey. "I have done all of the work myself with the exception of the paint on the fender flares. It was built to be like something the factory would build, but a lot more fun! Loud exhaust, turbo lag, a noisy grabby clutch, high egt's, and lots of smoke were all things at the top of the list to avoid. It had to be fun and easy to drive, and have a clean appearance. Projects like this are never complete, but I think I'm getting close."
