This is my 1996 Ford F-250 with a Cummins swap. The motor is from a 1994 Dodge along with an NV4500 five-speed transmission and 242DHD transfer case. The truck was originally owned by my father which he purchased new in 1996. It was a plow truck and his daily driver until the Chicago blizzard of 2011. The factory TTB broke from the weight of pushing such heavy snow and years of abuse plowing. It was either sell the truck or make it better. I later acquired the truck and title from my father to keep it in the family. Some of the extensive modifications include:
- a four-inch lift kit from Sky Jacker
- Mickey Thompson classic 16x11s
- 35-inch Toyo MT tires
- a 1989 kingpin Dana 60 up front and 3.54s
- custom-made traction bars
- custom piping and full five-inch downpipe and exit to a seven-inch MBRP exhaust tip
- a 38-gallon single gas tank bottom sumped to an Airdog 150 and dual fed style pump
The motor has a ported and polished head, fire ringed head and Haisley gasket, rod, main and head studs, T4 steed speed manifold with 38mm wastegate, and a Forced Inductions billet 62/68 .83 turbo feeding a T6 80/96 1.32 turbo.
I use it for whatever I want. I daily drive it to work in the spring and summer months; it'll never see winter again. This truck is my masterpiece. I basically knew nothing at all about diesels and how to swap it five years ago but I got a LOT of help from Diesel Conversion Specialists and people on the forums and friends that helped out a lot, especially a lot of support from family and my amazing girlfriend. I hope to keep evolving this truck and keep it forever and hand it down as well.
