I recently watched in complete shock a video clip from a security camera at a drive-thru restaurant that showed in plain daylight some slimy deadbeat pull the pin from an expensive trailer hitch on a parked diesel truck and take off with it! I hate the fact there are people out there regardless of where you live who have no conscience and somehow feel okay about stealing from hard-working people.
Since adding billet shackles from Stack’d Racks (www.stackdracks.com) to the front of my truck, I’ve been a little more anxious than normal about where I park my truck. I don’t want to come off as non-trusting, but I guess I am. I did my best Hulk impression and really tightened them down when I got them, but of course the first time I went to use the 7/8-inch shackle it was a pain to loosen. Small price to pay, I figured, to better my odds they won’t walk away in some random parking lot.
I was complaining about it to another truck owner when he gave me one of those “duh” looks and suggested I order a set of locking pins from InfiniteRule. I tried to play it off like I already knew that, but truth is this company wasn’t on my radar. It completely makes sense since I’m not the only one who worries about shackles, tow hitches, off-road hooks, D-rings, or whatever vulnerable accessory you have on your truck being swiped in a moment’s notice.
Since putting InfiniteRule on my radar, life has been a lot better for me and my truck. I ordered a set of highly-engineered, heavy-duty locking shackle pins that have been engineered to withstand 15,000 pounds of shear load with a 3:1 safety factor. That’s all I needed to hear.
Not only are my shackles from Stack’d Racks now secured, they look a lot cleaner with the InfiniteRule pins. The tapered heads add strength and proactively deter theft, making it difficult to force the lock.
Constructed of high-quality rust-resistant bright nickel-plated steel for fatigue resistance and ultra durability, the locking pins are available in different models and sizes to fit your specific needs. InfiniteRule has been manufacturing vehicle security solutions since 2012 and it all began when company founder Brad Mateko began looking for a way to prevent theft of off-road hooks from his own vehicle. Necessity being the mother of invention, Brad created the unique patent-pending, award-winning line of locking pins and the rest is history. The 61012 1-inch, non-threaded locking pin that is specifically designed for the Stack’d Racks shackle retails for $39 and in my opinion is worth every penny. If you’re going to secure something, you might as well look good while doing it.
