Ever since Ford stopped production of the Excursion in 2005, people have been hard-pressed to find a vehicle capable of accommodating not only a family, but also the power and towing demands of the diesel enthusiast. Introduced as a competitor to the Chevrolet Suburban, the Excursion did them one better by offering a diesel engine as an option, either a 6.0L or a 7.3L, in addition to the standard gasoline engines. The market must not have supported the experiment, as it only lasted from 1999 to 2005. Ever since, though, there has been a small but steady community of people clamoring for something to fill the void. Enter Lucas Bartel.
